Do you remember we had watermelon creeper last year (link)? This time also watermelon seeds sprouted. The very first female flower showed up in mid June… After two days, it was a pleasant surprise that a tender fruit was seen in the place of the flower!
Look at the dates; the fruit grew very fast in June. But, later on the growth stopped suddenly. Probably if I had fed the plant with more compost, it would have been larger. The plant dried in mid July. I plucked the fruit. It was very small in size. Surprisingly, this time it was dark red in colour and really very sweet!
So sweet and juicy.
A very beautiful fruit, small but definitely good!

Oh yes we too had some. The only problem is that watermelons are heavy so we had to support it with some net, and finally it looked like it was lolling in a hammock.

Thank you Uma π I didn't grow them dear, they just sprout and I just watered. May be Pune weather also helped. Since our apartment is in 4th floor, the creeper received medium sunlight. I have filled the pot with wet waste from kitchen. That's all! Hope my experience will be useful to some extent π TC! Keep smiling π
